DirectX XP
are there any versions of direct x for windows xp?
cuz im trying to play quake 2 (yes quake 2, it dominates 3)

I'm using Direct X 8 on XP, was on the cd, but I'm having trouble with some of my games. There was something on the Microsoft site about installing the Service Pack if you use Direct X 8.

Are you using xp with an nVidia card? I had the same problem. I searched google for somthing like "xp nvidia patch" and found what I needed

i know im not suppose to be posting but, OH THE HECK WELL, is there anyway i can tell if im using that card without taking out the toolbox and opening up the computeR?
