To input sound, pick up the reciever and talk.

To output sound, call someone else and wait for them to talk.

    Hope that helps!

Ok, no jokes. I was just pointing out that your question was a little vague. I know you can make your computer dial a number and then talk through the microphone and listen through the speakers, or make a computerized answering machine, but I don't know how you would even connect the telephone handset to the computer.

If you say what you are trying to do it may be easier to help. Sorry if the "humor" offended you...

    I thought it was

if you have a zipped project on the whole of what you offered up speakers/mike/answering machine and wouldn't mind sending it to me, I'd like to have it.

I will hunt it down when I get home tonight. I also have a caller id program if you're interested (it shows you the number of the person who called BUT you have to pay for caller-id to be enabled by your phone company).

my phone has called id facilities but I'm too cheap to pay for them so the id is one I'll pass on.
I am using DSL now and so I thought that being as I have
a 56k sitting in the pc doing nothing I could use it as an
answering maching but really couldn't find any help on the subject...anything you have will be much appreciated.

    Thanks, again.

I would like copies of the apps too. Both the telephone and caller id apps.
