When the blind leadith the blind... [fixed]
Hi,
I have two computers, one running Win98 SE, and the other running Windows XP Home Edition. I have a small network that consists of the two computers. In Network Neighborhood, each computer can see itself, but not the other. On the XP machine, i can type in the address in the explorer bar , "\\MachineName\C\......" and i can view the files that i've shared on the 98 machine. This however doesn't work with the 98 machine viewing the XP. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix my "blindness"?
Thanks
-George

I had this problem with win98 and xp pro.....
It WOULD connect (from win98 to xp), but it detected the other comp randomly. Sometimes it did detect it, sometimes it didn;t.
try the "Search for computers or people" and see if you can find your xp machine. Maybe that would work...

Figure out the user account Windows 98 SE automatically uses, then make an user account with that same name on the XP box.

Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.
