    Icons - Change?

    Hey all,

How come icons seem to change depending on what computer you have.

They actually change to a different icon.
    Why is that?

    1) Was a side-ish view of a calculator and turned to a front view.

    2) Was a tick and it turned to a help-file book!

    Hi Beacon,
I got the same problem on "WINDOWS NT Workstation". I wouldn't actually call it a problem, but it does have this bug in in it. I had explorer and instead of seeing the Computer Icon, I sometimes get to the see the icon of the application that I last opened.

It shifts from an IE Icon to a Outlook Icon and sometimes a crw.exe icon. I have no idea what causes it, but after I logout and login to NT things go back to normal.

it does not affect my work, except for causing a distraction

    Cheers!

I have the same thing happen, system wide, if my PC has been up for quite a while.

Rebooting generally sets the Icons back to "Normal" however.

It happened to me on my win98 machine.
It had twekui and i did a rebuild icons and it worked out fine then.
Generally happens if the display memory is low.

Also sometimes on a low resolution it shows a small icon, if i change the resolution it loads a different looking icon.

    Hi,
I don't know if there is tweakUI available for NT work-stations.

    Cheers!

There is one for "NT 5"... Windows 2000, so there might be. If they've gone through the trouble to port it to Win2k, there's probably an NT4 version as well. Though maybe not
