I have issue with ALL religions. In their purest form they are simply man's limited way of trying to explain that which they are unable to explain... and each culture comes up with their own "religion" and then tries to say its "The One" and the rest of the world is wrong.

I haven't read the Qur'an so I cannot comment on whether it has contradictions or not... YOU would say the bible doesn't have contradictions so one would assume that ANY person would say the texts of their own religion are without contradictions, so simply having a believer in their own religion saying its without contradiction is a moot point.

Kovan's claim is the same as yours... that some text to which neither of you personally have absolute knowledge is EXACTLY the same text that existed 2000 years ago, go on believing it like you actually stood there and watched it magically write itself 2000 years ago.

As for it being any different to the bible or bhudda or Zeus or anything else that tries to place the creation of the universe and "us" as the figurehead of that universe they are all the same to me, the excuse of a mind that cannot comprehend what it sees or knows and so for fear of functional disability attributes it to an unknown, unseen, unheard, uninterfering, benevolent and invisible entity that can never be disproved or contradicted.....

It is so convenient that it is this convenience which proves its flaw.

If I were God then of course I would create an entire universe, then run to the smallest corner and create hundreds of thousands of forms of life on a single insignificant and backwater ball of mud and then leave the rest of the place vacent for our own personal enjoyment. Then to top it off have written through a "secretary" my laws for them to follow, but allow them to translate it incorrectly while allowing the other 7/8ths of the population write their OWN religious versions and just sit back and not do anything.

Makes perfect sense to me
