That looks like a really cool program, but does it work on good operating systems as well, or is it only available for Windoze XP? It would be cool if it worked on Win2K.

That IS pretty cool. Is it your own code to skin the bar, or is it one of the classes floating around the 'net?

i was hoping the windows 2000 version (that will be available again soon, i'm having trouble getting it uploaded ) would work on 9x, but it doesnt seem to.
I will look into the cause of the 9x problems and try and sort it ASAP

Will the 9x be similar to the Windows 2000? How long will take to make smartbarxp compatible with non Win 2000/XP systems?

yea, well its gonna have a slightly new look for BETA4... when i get it working on 9X it should do everything the 2000 version does apart from the fade effects.. but you will be able to have a slide effect instead
as for the amount of time, i dunno... ive almost finished the functionality of the new appbar, and when ive done that i need 2 sort a new themed look out for it and mod all the panes so they resize with the bar.

I'd say the gfade/trasparancy is for 2000/xp system only-so a slide effect will be awesome!

Actually there is a windows function - the AlphaBlend API - available on Win98, ME, 2k, and XP. If you eliminate NT4 and 95 from the supported list, you can have it fade on every OS.
