Every once in a while my IE window will just dissapear (as if I closed it). I can't really pinpoint when this happens... It happened once when I clicked a link in a post here, and once when I was logging into one of my ASP apps.
I think installing Artifact Desktop (which needed the .net framework) may have had something to do w/it because I think it started about the same time. I have since removed both items.
I am using IE5.5sp2 on a WinNT4.0 machine.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Michael

It seems to have something to do with Flash because the app I am developing now has some flash in it... and I think the link i clicked to this morning off of a post was a flash file.

K, it is still busted. 90% of the time i try to open a site w/flash in it my IE either just dissapears or will freeze on load. Any ideas other than a total format?

having trouble getting it... they have it to where you can't d/l the instal file (or atleast I can get it figured)... I can turn off all my 'active x' stuff and access the site w/out a lockup but i don't think I can d/l the player that way.

in my 'winnt/downloaded program files' I have two instances of the JRE and both say damaged when I click properties. I removed them and went to the sun site and d/l'ed them again... and same thing happened... this sucks and is getting worse.

Thats not my case I don't get the BSOD, it just hangs on page load or dissapears all together. As far as graphics cards go I believe I just have a generic dell card (i didn't build this comp (at work)).

I ran norton virus scan and adaware. (norton was clean and i think ad aware had just some cookies flagged). The only thing that was left behind after uninstalling the artifact desktop was the .net framework (or whatever) and I uninstalled that too.

***?!?
Now it is doing it again... i can set my active-x items to disable (or prompt and decline) in security and access the sites fine but with it on it will sit there till i kill it or give me the 'send us an error report' msg box and kill itself.

every computer in the office seems to be ****ed now
I think I found the culprit but what to do? ....on one of the machines the 'process' wfxctl32.exe' is hogging all the processor... i assumed that this file belonged to winfax pro (CRAP!) but not sure... I tried doing a google search on teh filename and found this: http://cert.uni-stuttgart.de/archive.../msg00057.html
any ideas?
