Parsing... please help!

I have never had to parse files before and I am trying to learn how to. I am not looking to take all the data from this file. I am looking to take the Show ID from it, and the Show Name, and the Description.

There is a lot of stuff to be able to parse out of this file and I am wondering what kinds of steps I should take? Are there any sites out there that may teach me how do parse well?

What kind of file is it? The text is jumbled up.

um must make use of functions like mid() , .SubString, .indexof() , split() ..read about them and u'll see what i mean

and i dont see any explicit SHOWID in that file...u must find the thing that marks when is the ID and that things and from then on make the rest of the app
