    Game in VB...

    Hey guys!
Sometimes when I am free for a little time from projects, I like to train alghoritm and discover new things in VB with some games that I did like... I finished the last one somewhere in last week...Its a simple game called yam... Now I am just making some updates, fixing some little bugs and adding new functions as the players ask me to do...

But I was wondering to start slowly in some "bigger" game, something in RPG Area as final fantasy, phantasy star (from Snes and Master System), and I would like your opinion.... =-)

Is viable make a game like that in Vb? Or Vb is very limited for design games... Giving too much problem about memory management? Should games be left to be created in C/C++? It will worth the time?

See, I am not doing it to sell or anything... Its just a hobbie.... Just to learn more things about VB... =-)

    Thanks for your time!

i used to think vb was unsuited for games until i got Microsoft Visual Basic Game Programming With DirectX by Jonathan Harbour. Great book, really makes you see that you can do some great things with vb, granted, i don't think you could make Doom III, but rpg's or rts's are certainly possible. also check out VBGamer: http://vbgamer.strategon.com/ and GameDev: www.gamedev.net
