I have 'Step by Step Visual Basic 6".. I dont know if I recommend it, I learned a lot from it, but its too basic, I think you should learn the basics of VB online or from eBooks, and then buy an advanced VB book.

I was searching Amazon and that book was one of the top rated, I was thinking about getting it but thought I should get some recommendations first.
I need basic right now, online doesn't have enough for me. I like to go from one thing to another, not reading 60 different tutorials by different authors... Although, Karl Moore tutorials are great

I wonder how many charact
You could use the MSDN tutorials, read through the documentation...
if you get stuck, come here... it would help if you set a goal to design some sort of simple app, and then just learn everything you need to make it work...
I bought a VB book but it was basically useless to me... Vb in 21 days by SAMS... ugh!

What about the "Dummies" or "Easy Steps" books? They're usually quite good.

I prefer that book which solve the problem using codes.
if you have the strong basics , then try to get the intermediate level. This will give you a good push

well , I like the way I use in Learning langs. It's like this way :
1-Learn Controls includes (butttons , textboxes, ...etc)
2-Learn Objects
3-Learn Classes
4-............ and so on ,
What I mean now is splitting the large titles into small portions.
good luck

NO, dont get VB for dummies book, each chapter talks about a control, that was the first book I got, Like 1 chapter is about the methods of a textbox, another is about command button, another is about combo box, way too basic, get step by step, if you really want a book.
