    Windows exploer gives default icons to certain files

    eg .exe files (not vb ones)
    how can I get hold of these icons?

    try using microangelo 98, it's has a tool which lets you view and extract the icons out of .EXE and .DLL's

    Also, I believe there is a way (in VB) to extract icons from files.
