MCSD for .NET

I am currently working with and learning VB.Net and would like to start studying for an MCSD.

Can anyone suggest the best resources/Methods for home study.

What are the best books on the subject?

the best practice is reading the old tests.Microsoft are repeating themself.

They are not repeating themselves. Don't expect to see much that was on the VB6 exams on the VB.Net exams. Everything is different. I currently have the old MCSD and I am learning .Net and going after the MCAD. There is very little similiarity.

Hellswraith, how was the SQL Server 2000 exam? I need to get off my ass and take that exam so I can get my MCSD.

For me that book was awesome. I knew very little about SQL Server 2000, so I was pretty much starting from scratch. I knew a bit about databases in general, just not SQL server. Using just this book, I passed the exam with ease. That should tell you something about the book. I have a MSDN Universal subscription, so I was able to play with SQL Server Enterprise edition which helped me a lot. I took one month and made it pure SQL Server 2000 month for me. All my free time was reading the book and playing with the app.

If you already have experience with it, it should be a breeze. I still recommend the book to make sure your not missing anything.

LOL...I have the same book! I've read a few chapters so far and it is a great book. I was dedicated to reading just this book until I started playing around with C#. My biggest problem is that as soon as I get into a book, for some reason, I open another book and never finish the first one..

I have the same problem. I have 4 C# books, not one of them have I read completely yet. I have only gone through the first 3-4 chapters, then I use them as reference books.

You should see the book shelf, it is full of half read books. The only ones I have read completely are the Cert books, and the books I used for classes.
