In general, I agree with you but you have to admit that sometimes you get alot more people looking at your post this way ...

It happened to me once, I needed a good idea about how to kill a program, my subject was

    "killing a program"

I got 4 people looking at it, and no one answered.

but when I posted the exact same one with

    "Please help"

I got 150 people looking at it, 30 posts or so and enough ideas to send a man to the moon ...

so you have to admit that it does help sometimes ...

In the beginning the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is generally regarded as a bad idea.

I did post a thread about this in the Feedback Forums a while ago. Doesn't really matter though.

Anyway, this should really be in the Feedback forum.

Wow those numbers are impressive. Strange world.

I think the reason why a "please help me!" gets more replies is because we're all so nice

I've been there too but would rather just ask my question as is. Short 'n sweet. PLEASE HELP ME!! sounds too unprofessional. But then again not everyone posting is a professional.

I suspect that short 'n sweet questions get less response because when people see the
question they also can see more quickly whether they feel competent to give an adequate answer or not. Personally,
I almost always respond to questions having 0 replies first. Then 1 to 3 replies. I figure there's little use answering questions that have already received more than 5 replies - (but I still might reply depending on subject.)

I rarely reply when I know nothing or too little of the subjet matter.

You're right, mr. Gates. Feedback forum - didn't think of that.

    Have a nice week everyone.
