s/w on games programming and animations
hi all
i would like to know, what kind of s/w are used to develope games softwares and animations. i would like take projects in animations like self demonstrating topics, which would be helpful to develope. lot of replies will be helpful. thanks

For professional game code it's 95% Visual C++.
Hobby game programmers (like most people here) like VB or some other environments.
For animations: it depends what you want to do. 2D graphics are usually done in Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. 3D graphics are done on a wide range of apps, starting with the very good but very expensive 3D Studio Max and Maya down to the less costly but not as sophisticated Milkshape or Freespace. You can download demos of most and you should simply try which you like most.
Often 2D graphics are created in 3D apps and then rendered to 2D images. It's easier for animating.
