    Question Getting started with .net

Time to start learning vb.net... question: can I install visual studio.net on the same PC as VS 6/vb6, etc, and not risk corruption/funny things happening? I want to continue developing my VB6 apps while I learn the .net platform....

    I'm runing WIn 2000 Pro

    Thanks.

I have vb6 and vb.Net running on the same machine - (Win 2000) - and have found no problems.

If you had any problem , try to install SP5 for VB.

They are completely different applications. It isn't like Office XP and Office 2000, where they don't like to be on the same machine. Both VS 6 and VS.Net have no problems coexisting on the same machine.

    Talking just to...

    just to add another opinion...
yes, you can. i had them running on the same machine w/ win xp, but it works on win 2000 too.
a great advantage is that you get ocx's from vb6 in vb .net that you normally would not get... such as winsock.
