    Feedback on www. gameinstitute.com?

    Hi,
I stumbled upon the site www.gameinstitute.com that offers online courses in game development using DirectX and/or OpenGL with C++.

Do any of you have any experience with this site? Any feedback or comments?

    Regards,
    ChuckBolin

I've taken a couple of courses there and thought they were pretty good. Good material and samples and the instructor usually answers questions in the forums fairly quickly.

    Hi,
The forums over at gametutorials.com have positive things to say about this gameinstitute.

Do you know of any other online courses like this?

    Regards,

I haven't taken one of their corses, but I do have one thing to say about online classes..

They generaly don't work, for me at least. If your the type of person who can learn with out having a hands on - classroom type - environment.. then it looks as though they have something to offer you.
When I was in high school I took my Junior and Senior year at www.internethomeschool.com because my mother had to work again and it really wasn't the best learning environment. (Even though it was high school and generaly really easy.)

If you can learn something via forums & online books then go for it - you haven't anything to loose.. I tend to learn better with hands on - instructor supervision - type situations. (Itt-Tech, DeVry, FullSail.. things like that)..

    Just my opinion..

What do you mean it doesn't work? I had it working just a minute ago!
