password lost how to recover excel workbook?

I have an Excel 2002 workbook which is protected from opening by (lost) password. Is there any sub or function that can be run to find and display/delete password from file?

Nope...I don't believe that even Microsoft can help in this case.

A similiar situation happened here at work just a couple of days ago, on this user forgot what password she used to protect the sheet. She had to recreate the spreadsheet.

Are there not any third party programs that allow to recover lost passwords for this. I know there are for protected word documents.
