give me something to program

If you guys have any ideas for what to program it would be appreciated. my programming abilities are fairly beginner but i think i might be able to try some intermediate stuff. altho my name suggests it, i'd rather not do api
i just can't think of anything to do hehe hard to get better if you never practice :/

A stock watch/alert program (to make us rich ).
Involves inet (internet transfer control) for downloading stock quote web pages as a string, then parsing the string to extract quote info.
Allow the user to register stocks of interest and set price alerts.
Program runs periodically, displays results and notifications.

thanks for the idea ralph i think i might try that. actually is what i was looking for pretty much, involves a control i've never used and then builds on my previous experience

DirectX can be downloaded at Microsoft.com. Do a search for DirectX 8.0 SDK (assuming you mean you want to use DirectX in your programs)

I don't know off hand for a whole group at a time. But can scan individual ones (changing symbol variable) like:

Ok, if that's what u want, since u said u're a beginner so I'll give u something for beginner to code.
Search record from a database, will u do that? Use Access as ur databse and JET connection.
Coz I've lost my code on it, trying to get it back. Mind to do it?

I know actually,

Make an application which will connect to a MySQL Server,
Select a Database.
Then for every table in the database,
Export the data, and structure of the table, to a .SQL dump, and then email it to some1

And when your done i would LOVE IT!

(Psst: Allow the user to give a list of Databases to export, )

I would like to see the source code to this... because now I'm worried it is a virus.

It is great for fragmented system sequences or redundant library calls.

What redundant library calls could an EXE squash?
