Floppy disk error 40
when I start my PC (P-IV) I get the error 40 floppy disk unit fail and the unit is not working at all.
I replaced the floppy disk unit by a new one but the error remains so my next step would be to replace the disks controller but before doing it I wolud to like to know if there is anything else i can check before spending more money.

make sure the floppy is connected to the end of the cable (after the twist means its a
if the light on the drive stays on, it means you have it plugged into the floppy the wrong way
like master said, make sure in the bios that a: drive is set to have a 1.44 mb floppy, and b drive is disabled.
