    The link color only gets worse

    This is pretty bad, the yellow is really ugly against white. It has gone beyond the thereshold of readable.

    No no jamie! You're doing it all wrong! Some of the links are still readable. May I suggest a bright yellow for visited links, bright "*****" red for the hover, and neon pink for normal links?

    I'm sorry. I've been experimenting with different colors with the aim of finding one that

    1) Makes it obvious that a link has been visited, and
    2) Doesn't clash. (I was told by more than one person that the red was awful.

    If you have a suggestion for a color, send me the hex value and I'kk try it out.

    What was wrong with the purple? This blackish tinge seems pretty OK.
