Yesterday, I left a soda can with a straw sticking out of it on the counter. I took a nap and woke up 1 hour later to discover ants in the aluminum can. I the can up and left it on a plate in the sink. The plate has a layer of water, meaning the can is surrounded by water. The straw is about 1/16 of inch from the mouth of the faucet.
Came home later and found the can was infested with more ants. I look and wonder how they got on. The plate was fill with water. I looked carefully and saw a small bridge of ants connect from the straw to the mouth of the faucet.
That is amazing how smart insect can be.

Sounds like you need an ant trap
