partion harddrive and totaly reinstall
hey, i want to partition my c drive. i want to install win2k on my computer. i dont mind losing any thing coz i have nothing to lose.
ive got win2k on at the moment, but its not been installed propearly, can any one help?

If you have nothing important on the drive...
go to www.bootdisk.com, make yourself a boot disk. I like the Win98 ones since they are not full of crap.
run fdisk, delete all your partitions, make a new primary partition, format the partition, and install 2K on it

I just pop in the Win2k install CD, and delete my partition, create a new, and format it.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation. 
(Just a heads-up)

For 2K, make sure you format as NTFS (not convert!) using the installer...
I refuse to tie my hands behind my back and hear somebody say "Bend Over, Boy, Because You Have It Coming To You".

from my experience format as NTFS or convert doesn't makes any difference...

Formatting uses 4096-byte allocation units. Converting uses 512-byte units, leading to increased fragmentation.
