Thread: Removing Shortcut Arrows!!!

    can any1 tell me how to remove those anoying shortcut arrows of the shortcut files, either by using vb or registry modifications.

    I don't remember, but it sure is in www.regedit.com
    When you find (in the registry) the folder with the shell icons, i guess the shortcut arrow is the 29, just leave it blank

    I did it using Tweak UI, which can be found in microsoft's downloads, somewhere under win 95 tools. It's called Power Tools or something like that. There all you have to do is install Tweak UI, which is really cool anyway, and click a button. No registry stuff.

    Hehe I think his point was to do it in a program :-)
    but yes TweakUI does it too...
    and at http://www.sysinternals.com you can download a registry monitor so you can scan what tweakui is doin.. if you can't find it (regedit.com has some kewl tips :-)

    do it using tweak ui but use an apispy and see what it does... maybe you can figure it out if its possible... i don't know if it is but why not try

    thanx guys for the help,
    but the tip about the shell icon in the registry at regedit.com.... well i've already tried that, and surprise surprise....it doesn't work.
    I'm using win98 O/S,
    anymore suggestion???

    Win98 has it's own version of TweakUI. It is on the CD, under TOOLS --> ADD-ONS (or something like that)
