I can tolerate fluctuations in the price of petrol due to world market forces on the price of crude oil, or should I say manipulations by the OPEC cartel.

I can just about tolerate the government adding VAT to the price of petrol.

I cannot tolerate the government using fuel duty as a soft option on a proper taxation system.

The scenes we are seeing up and down the country are a sign that Joe Public is fed up with the government screwing us on fuel.

Everyone I have spoken to supports the actions being taken around the country, and I believe that public opinion in general is overwhelmingly in favour of the blockades, despite it causing personal problems.

So come on, Blair, and take notice of public opinion and scrap this ridiculous concept called "duty".

I believe that taking notice of public opinion is something called DEMOCRACY, but I may be wrong.

Before you reply with some crap about hospitals and schools having to do without essential services due to the loss of revenue, why don't you look at the ridiculously high social security budget, the costs of looking after bogus asylum seekers,......... I could go on but your refusal to accept public opinion is starting to frustrate me.

I think you'll find the surname of the Dictator running this soft-touch isle is not Blair but Bleurgh (well he makes me spew each time he starts spouting off).

All peeps should support the blockades (Though it seems strange that I don't get frustrated when sitting in a queue caused by a protest). We (well UK bods) should support the http://www.fuelprotest.com & http://www.boycott-the-pumps.com sites, and encourage the good work being carried out by all those who are demonstrating and blockading. I've even mellowed to the farmers who, before the protests started, got on my tits by running a competition to see who could get the most cars stuck behind them on the A47.

Oh and I have to use my car as to use public transport would mean leaving the house at 06:00 and getting back at 19:30 for a 9 to 5 job; whereas by car I can leave at 08:00 and I'm back around 18:00.

The Reason that I am not lowering the tax is because like most politician's, I have not got a f@*cking clue. I couldn't care less about any business that will go down becuase of they can't aford fuel. OPEC are not to blaim for this problem (like I said) but hey, I might as well make some one a scape goat to take the pressure off of me. I don't even need the extra money because I already get 13p from every lottery ticket. If the country comes to a stand still, well at least it sort's out John prescot's trafiic problem. I will get the police and troop's out so I can have my chineese again. Every other govement mucks around with joe public so why shouldn't I

Ah That silenced you all, I wonder If I can do the same to the rest of the population. I think i should make this country like a dictator ship, just like my favorite idol, Stalin, then we wouldn't have any of this up-rising and I could spend more time doing stupid publicity pictures with my baby instead of trying to sort out my country.

I live right at the top of scotland (STOP LAUGHING!!!) and all of the towns with petrol stations have run out of petrol, Which also disables public transport. Oh Crap!!!

Our petrol has jnust gone through the $1 a litre barrier. Our PM Jack Boot Johnny has petrol exercise linked to CPI, so if CPI increases then the tax percentage on gas goes up by a similar percent. Now with the intro of GST CPI is expected to rise by 7%, therefore tax on petrol will increase by 7%, add the oil cartels forcing of world prices upwards and it means that petrol early next year will rocket up in price.

There have been calls here to hold off the CPI petrol increase, but of course the gov wont do that cos it's an economic wind fall which they will claim, (it goes into general revenue), points to the wonderful economic policies of their government.
