Mouse at home, one of those little red eraser do-jiggers for the laptop at work.

I use an old school mouse at work and an optical scroll mouse at home (I'm always 'rubbing' my work mouse trying to scroll). I have a machine at home that has a trackball that I use from time to time. I've seen a device that is like the touchpad of a laptop that looks kinda nifty but my finger always feels wierd after using the touchpad too long. I want to try out one of those 'pencil eraser' types cos I used one once like 6 years ago and found it to be impossible but I think I would be more adept now and all teh cheaper laptops have them.

I have a new-style optical mouse here, and at work I alternated between one with a ball and a *proper* optical (with the funky mat).

I don't think I'll ever use it, But I'll keep it in case of an emergancy.
What kind of an emergency do you suppose it will help with?

btw, I use a mouse. and I got as a gift a mouse that looks like a mouse.
and it comes with a pad that looks like a piece of cheese.
    Isn't that cute?
It's not coming out of the box.

Well, imagine that some space radiation came down one night, and turned your mouse into.. say, a large panther? That would be an emergency that a trackball could help with...
