Is anybody familiar with the Security systems of RM Inc? The college I am at uses this company, and the security is so restrictive, you can't even insert pictures in to VB Objects!!!!

CyberSurfer, did you ever find any information about these, as my school is (i think) gonna install RM Systems next year.

RM is Research Machines and they don't make security software, but they will often include it on the system.

    Is it a Window Box?

They had RM Machines at my Secondary school and sixth form college. The system policies are very strict but there are ways around it. For example, they had disabled MyComputer and Run so it was seemingly impossible to navigate through hard disks etc, but I found a way to open Explorer by right-clicking the Recyle Bin and clicking Explore. Clearly they forgot about that.

Also, I managed to steel a teachers password so I could log in as them and have loads of access privilidges!! At the beginning of the year we were all told what format the passwords were in (they had been preset to your Surname and some other gumpf), so I logged in as one of the teachers before he had had chance to do it himself. Then I changed his password and used it for a good 9 months or so!! That was cool

He was an old woodwork teacher (must have been 60 at least) and never went near the machines. That's how I never got caught (chose your teacher wisely!!)

No. I mean is it a "Window Box"? It's a type of RM machine.

Oh right sorry, I just read it straight off as "Windows Box", well, I'm not 100% sure what type it is, as they've just installed it and I've been on study leave. From what I know from friends, you have to login and then you've got different "desktops" each of which has certain applications accessible so your computer becomes less cluttered and so on.
