Perhaps, you may create an Organizer with PhoneBook, Dialer, Daily/Weekly/Monthly calendars, Reminders, etc... You will have a lot of fun doing it.

    Cheers, Roy

a really well-done "MasterMind" game would be great. I"ve found a half-dozen out on the internet, but they all suck and it shouldn't be that hard to do using VB

    phinds,
games are fun to do, but that's not what someone will do for the living as a programer - mostly boring DB stuff. That is why I suggest an Organizer. ;-)

Roy, you are right of course, but I think you can learn as much doing a game as doing an organizer and if you're having fun, you're more likely to stick with it and finish it and move on to another project, instead of letting it languish.

The only problem with this is that if only like doing FUN stuff then you're in the wrong business my friend. Mostly not fun at all.

If you have "the stuff", how about a VB code colorer that colors VB code like it does on these forums, only better. I have yet to see a decent colorer that doesn't have errors that I can find in a fraction of a second. Something that works in Word would be nice.

OK, I'm just soliciting code now. Actually this type of code is right up my alley, but I have too many things going. Anyone know of good VB code colorer?

If you want a game, do Monopoly and use a DB to read/write all user/property info.

Here is a good way to get a project idea. Go to download.com. Do a search for anything that comes to mind. Find a subject that most of the software listed is shareware (as in not freeware). Now build an app of the same quality or better, and offer it for free. Works well for all. You get a project to do, other people get free software.

Thats a good idea, but I bet the Shareware people hate you for it.

I believe some would be mad about it...lol. But, if they want to keep making money, they will have to make theirs better than the free one. Overall, we get better software.

    A turn timer

Why not create a program that will divide each user's time on the computer, and it may log off, so another user can log on. It might solve arguements of not enough time or unfair turns.

Why not try working on the thing that they were doing in the Project Request Forum (I think...)

They were trying to put the support files inside the exe.
