finding whats running at startup Resolved. Thanks ALL
does anyone know what the command is to get that program up that u can stop and start things running at start up. I have windoze 2000 and all of a sudden there has been about a 3 minute wait in me getting the desktop loaded and the icons and stuff appearing on it - I just wana know what

Good Ol' Platypus
Start -> Run -> RegEdit
Go into the keys, find Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Run/RunOnce/RunOnceEx (there are several of these chains). There you can see what "services" startup with Windows.

Go into Start | Programs | Admin Tools | Services
There are several server-related services you do not need.
Search the web.
