Port 23 "Telnet" ? - Non VB Related
What is port 23, and why is it opened on some computers when they got online?
I tried to telnet a one once and I got a password prompt, Does anybody here know what kinda of service is this ?

The telnet protocol, use google.

Telnet can perform several services.
Usually remote access for some type of system related function.
If you have a router you may be able to telnet to it to configure it.
You can even establish file transfers on telnet.
