New to dbgrid

OK here goes.

In a tabstrip I have a dbgrid. Depending upon tabstrip, values are pulled from a database. What I would like to do is allow the user to select (like a checkbox) all items that he wishes to include in a quotation.

Another question: How can I allow the user, on the same Dbgrid as above to have three coulmns for which he can add value to such as Day, Week, Month rates?

I'm a newbie in this area so speak slowly.

First part: I am not sure, sorry.

Second part: You need to have 3 columns in your table named Day, Week, and Month. Then select those in your SQL statement and add them to the DBGrid. the user will be allowed to enter and modify the data, as long as you have the DBGrid.AllowUpdate property set to True.

You know, the second part, I would do that except, I load all part number from one database. I'm trying to allow the user to select items and assign rates. The new list will be stored in a 2nd database.

That's tougher, then. You can't have a column in a DBGrid that is not connected to a database, and I don't know how you would go about connecting one datagrid to two databases at the same time.

Maybe you could do this - create a temporary table in the parts number database, save the day month and year values, then transfer that table's values to your other database and then delete it. That's kind of crude though; do you HAVE to use 2 databases?
