What to do in the university
I'm going to university next year but I can't make up my mind about what to be. First I always wanted to do Software Engineering but now I'm thinking of Electronics Engineering (or just electronics degree or something?). Isn't that you have to keep learning with a fast pace in the sofware programming field than electronics? Anybody got some suggestions about which one would be good?
Also, what's the difference between Computer Science and Computer Engineering along with Software Engineering?

abdul,
EE is what you'd do if you wanted to start closer to hardware.
Comp Engg is also hardware oriented, just more computer- hardware oriented.
Comp Sci is related to software/algorithms/math/software engineering fundas - so that's where you go if you wanna be, say a System Analyst.
As far as deciding what you wanna be, did you think 'fireman'?
Would this do
to make it allright?

I would definately say CompSci for your current goal, but you might want to take a look at MIS of Info Systems from the college of business for a well-rounded business perspective. Just something to think about.

Noooooo!!!
Management Information Systems are evil evil evil! They're cuddly interfaces for people to stupid to know what they're doing, and are quite happy to trust the numbers coming out, knowing full well that they put estimates in.
*cough*
Um, rant over
I'm doing EE if it helps...

Thanks for the feedback. Now is the time to decide which one to apply for, I think. I looked into all of these 3 fields and I think EE looks pretty impressive. I guess I should should go with this? Anybody has any idea about average salaries for each of these fields?
