    PIII Heatsink/Fan = PII Heatsink/Fan?

I have a PII 233 MHz CPU in my old PC, and my friend maybe getting me a PIII 600 MHz CPU, but it doesn' have a fan or heatsink. Should I be able to use the old heatsink and fan on the new one?

I had no problem using a Socket 370 heatsind on a Socket 7 CPU.

However, is your new CPU slot or socket?
    Josh
    Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.

It's a socket 1 type, you think it will make any difference?

No such thing as Socket 1 if the P3 is a slot type, it'll work, if it's socket type, it won't. Simple as that (since there are no socketed P2s)
    I'm bringing geeky back...

Oh yeah, sorry I meant to say slot! I think my mind must have been elsewhere, what with the dirty movies on my screen It's my new PC that has the socket type.
