Disable Safe Mode option

is it possible to not let user get into safe mode by pressing <shift> key during boot time. there must be some registry key for it??

Y would ever want to change that ?

They still have to login I believe when the get into safe mode.
If you remove that option then if something goes wrong NO-ONE can bring it backup.

my applications give protection to machines from getting into control panel, registry editor etc.. but this application itself starts during startup and by getting into safe mode autostart feature of my app will not work and thus any one can goto safe mode and uninstall my app.

Guess that's impossible...
If by any chance a virus or worm get into the pc and disable
safe mode then the only way to recover is to format...

I don't think there is a registry key to disable safe mode.

There cannont be a registry entry because the option for safe mode comes up before anything is loaded, including the registry.

Ive searched MS site for you and found nout, you cant do it, unless you know how to code the OS .

Btw, the thing you seen to be creating is already in windows, just standard security settings for users.

it is 100% possible and i have seen it happening. one way is to do it through configuring MSDOS.sys and other way is through registry. i've forgotten the registry key.

I do think there is a way of doing it by making your own boot up files or the like, as lots of colleges have this option, but by a registry entry ? I cant believe that, too risky.

That is funny, a user registers and replies to a post that is over 10 years old

IMO safe mode should never be disabled even if possible could very likely lead to loosing all data on your system in the event that the PC is unable to boot normally.
