DBEngine.CompactDatabase() in DAO 3.6
I'm using VB, with MSDAO 3.60 referenced and am trying to use the DBEngine.CompactDatabase() method. I just have a few questions;
1) Am I right to assume that this will also repair a database?
2) Is there some way to get it to allow the same filepath for both source and destination files? (I know access2000 doesnt seem to have a problem with this...)
3) Is there another, better way to compact and repair a DB without having to juggle filenames?
Thanks

Well
Is there another, better way to compact and repair a DB without having to juggle filenames
I believe this is also the method that Microsoft uses. What's the problem with this?
Am I right to assume that this will also repair a database?
Good question, Do not think the two are treated seperatly...
Remaining quiet down here !!!

I know in DAO 3.51 there are seperate Compact and Repair methods. I only assume that in 3.60 they are one and the same because under Access2000's database utilites, it's called "Compact and Repair database" ...
I thought I remember reading the help for (either Compact or Repair) when referencing 3.51 and it mentioned that the path names could be the same file..I don't know why this would have changed.
Oh well, juggle I shall.
