    File Sharing Apps

I know this comes up quite a bit, but what file sharing apps do you use? I use KaZaA lite, but it seems to cause problems a lot while it's on like high memory usage and I still get popups. I tried WinMX but I could never connect to anyone (although that maybe alright now I have broadband).

WinMX is arguably the best file sharing service out there.

90% of the people give up on the first try because they don't know to choose results in green, and they keep getting queued up. If you choose results that are actually available, you will have no problems.

Of course, I prefer FTP over any P2P app...

I use both KaZaA lite and Direct Connect. KaZaA lite is good for finding single songs for mix CDs, but when I want a full album, I got to an MP3 hub on DC. It's much easier to download a full album from there that is encoded in the same format, and sounds decent. I've never tried WinMX. I think I'm gonna download it and try it out.

Ive been using WinMx for a while now and i think it is great. But for the first time today i couldn't connect to anything. it kept saying "peer redirect" they have to work on the queing though. Sometimes a person will have open slots available and you will get qued anyway.

I just downloaded it, and I don't like it. The interface on that thing sucks. I only found two people with a very popular file that would let me download, and almost everyone had red results, and had like -5 million slots available. I'll stick with kazaa for this type of stuff, and direct connect for full albums and games.

I use Kazaa Lite for music and videos since the multi-source downloading is a huge time saver; for ISOs (ahem) and other things I use DC

Oh yeah, that's right I remember now I find it a bit wierd though that you have to find a hub rather than just like the way KaZaA does it. But I'll try to give it a chance and maybe I'll like it.

    parksie.servebeer.com port 1411

I won't be on for a while until I get everything sorted out over this end. People like Ked are usually on though.
