    directx in c++ tutorials, where

    I've been looking for some tutorials for directx 8 (note the 8) and can't seem to find anything, everywhere i go it's either directx7, too advanced, or not explained well... downloads of sample code... they're nice.. if only they were commented better..

    Does anyone know a good directx8 tutorial site?

    There is a great site, but for VB (http://www.dx4vb.da.ru).
    For C++, I recommend you buy a good book or 5, browse Amazon, there are loads of books.

    Windows Game Programming for Dummies is a good book start with.
    It deals with all the aspects of directx(except direct3d). Good one!

    Is it for DX8? Cause I don't think so, else it would deal with D3D for sure.

    Id have to agree. Get a good book. Jim Adams' "Programming Roleplaying Games in DirectX8" is QUITE good for just starting out, and goes into the important areas of DX.
