What is going on here..

I am making a portscanner..so i used to different vb projects..and i coded a server and a client kind of thing...
but with the client i used napster's server ip and port number and i set the server localport to the port that napster is on also... then i closed the same napster port that i had put on my projects...and i closed the program and everything..and now i cant download any songs!

i tried to ping napster and got no response... i would put a name of a band in the search field and couldnt get nothing...but the ever starnger thing is that people can get songs from me??

What is going on?

Am pretty sure if i restart napster everything will be back to normal..but this is just starnge...does the winsock control keep working even after you close the program it is on?

Yes...winsock is used by MANY programs in windows...so even when you close your application it is still working in the background and if your program didn't have some kind of end statement on form_unload it will continue with the process that your program was attempting untill it reaches atimeout or an error.
