I think the trick is to be very quiet, I've only done it after reasonable supping sessions, so we probably woke them up. But the 2 times it worked were so funny, you wouldn't believe the noise they make.

*bigsmile yeah, it's great feeling - I rememebr ringing student loans about 4 weeks after my first contract and ratehr smugly stating I could clear all 400 pounds in one shot. I'm sure the Jock at the end of the line muttered "ewwwwwwwwww"
Wally, do the Beneluxians have another word for "moo"? You know, like in Japanese, a dog doesn't go "woof woof", it goes "wan wan"....

Is this true?
My brother-in-law* maintains that if you stick a short piece of hosepipe up a dog's jacksy it can't bark because it's got no compression.
* who, if not the biggest rogue, thief, liar etc that I've ever met, then I can't think who is. My wife (he's her brother) speaks highly of him too.

The sound or the verb ? The sound is pretty much the same "meuh", the verb is loeien (same word they use for a siren incidently)
The dog over here goes "waf waf"

Correct assumption with the northern bit, but fail to see why either a)cow tipping, b)drinking strong white cider, or c)both of the above should be the preserve of non-northeners.....
Used to go down to the beach in Fleetwood and break into a chalet for shelter whilst getting stoned and drinking 'Wild N White' (8.4%)

Naw, this ain't a north-south thing, it's a "I never had the privelage to do stuff like drink Wet'n'wild and push cows over" thing. It just seemed something that west Cundry people would do as part of their rites of passage...
Wild n White? That sits next to "Asian Babes" on the top shelf doesn't it?

Nope the shelf below --- the one that says 'Underage drinkers look here!' usually right next door to the bottles of Omega and Mad Dog 20/20.
Didn't think U meant N/S divide - was just confused....
