Thread: How I can learn modem status(internet/fax/voice)

    Question

    How I can know modem status?
    (in internet or fax/voice phone.)
    (i.e.: I will pay different cost for internet,
    or I will pay different cost for fax/voice.)

    Sorry but i'm having a hard time understanding what is it you need. Are you asking how you can tell what kind of modem a user has?

    Hi Dim,
    I'm tying a small prog. by VB5.
    When I use modem for internet connection,
    I will pay different cost.
    If I use modem for fax or voice phone I will pay different
    cost.
    When my program is working, How it check aim of modem.
    I want know, my modem usign for which action (internet,
    or fax, or voice).

    So as I understand you...

    You would like yor program to know when your modem is being used to connect to the internet, send a fax, or is being used for voice. Correct?

    I take it you want to be able to track the cost for each since they are different in price.

    I only hope to clear up your question as I have no answer for you. Hope someone else will.

    OK, now that we know exactly what you want.. I hope there is someone out there that can tell you how to do it. I am not up on getting the modem infomation.
