Simple Game Tournament Sign-Up Page

hi, i know its possible, i just dont know how, is their a "VERY BASIC" way to ask the user to input their name and another peice of info into a text box or 2 and have it automatically added to a list on another page?

theirs a lil CS tournie, and the guy who runs it, has always asked in their forums for ppl to say if they want in or not, so, i thought this would be better

also, this preferably should be in as simple a language as possible, as, i dont know anything bout db's or cgi stuff, so any examples etc would be greatful

CGI?? Send the user's name to a text file and then let load it back again?

hmm, yeah, well i know how to load it back up, if it were in a .txt file, but ... anyone know how to add it to the .txt file?

.... dunno, does it have to be a text file? Why not a database?

i my web programming skills are very basic, ie i can include .txt files n htm files etc into web pages, but, stuff like vBulletin/phpBB forums etc i cant install coz i dont know how to set up a db
