Thread: Shutting Down Win2k

How do I shut down Windows 2000?

I've tried the normal ExitWindowsEx API call but it doesn't work. I assume that the API function is different in NT than in 9x.

Any ideas what API function I should be using for NT based stuff?

To close down an NT/2000 machine you have to do a few things differently. Here is an example which I got from the API Guide:

    Code:
    'In a module
    Private Const EWX_LOGOFF = 0
    Private Const EWX_SHUTDOWN = 1
    Private Const EWX_REBOOT = 2
    Private Const EWX_FORCE = 4
    Private Const TOKEN_ADJUST_PRIVILEGES = &H20
    Private Const TOKEN_QUERY = &H8
    Private Const SE_PRIVILEGE_ENABLED = &H2
    Private Const ANYSIZE_ARRAY = 1
    Private Const VER_PLATFORM_WIN32_NT = 2
