Sticky one
Why is this thread sticky??? It's hardly worth a front page or even the bit that surrounds the girl on page 3...

I don't know, but I read parts of it and if I put what I had to say in it I would be flamed right out of there.
Basically it goes like this:
How to learn VB the EASY way.
Easy step 1: Learn how to program
Easy step 2: Learn how to create a flow chart
Easy step 3: Learn all the syntax of VB (all 20,000 keywords - no sweat)
Easy step 4: Write award winning programs by the end of your first Easy week.
Anyway, I think it's the first time I actually didn't respond to a thread that I think is total nonsense and poor advice for beginning programmers.
Not so much as poor advice, but totally misrepresented. There is no Easy way to learn VB.

Maybe, but there's no hard way, either.

I put that in for my search on Monster.com and didn't come up with much. I guess no one needs Summarizing List experts.

Uh-oh - looks like Bum's trying to do a Jamie on CafeenMan.
If it doesn't give you friction burns on your inner thighs, Caff, I'd recommend running like hell.

I'm not sure what you mean by cooperate. You mean if we cooperate nothing bad will happen to us?
What bugged me about it was the cavalier way the first post was written and then everyone jumping on the bandwagon and no one calling the guy on the fact that everything he said needed to be done pretty much defined something that is the opposite of easy to learn.
I just decided to exercise restraint for a change. Not exactly my character, but I'm glad I did it.

ID's comment went totally over my head. Probably because I was squatting at the time. I understood the thigh rash part which was simple, but the rest of it was too complicated for me.
Actually, I'm glad you started this post so I could vent it. Just because I was showing restraint, doesn't mean I was happy about it.
Now everything is ok again because of this opportunity you have afforded me. For that I am in your debt until I post this.

OK, that's scary, but you might have to explain it all to me really clearly using words and no vague references and no pictures of Richard either.

My tutorials thread was sticky for ages.
Then martin unstickified it for some reason.
That thread is just a disgrace...

He was the first person I thought of when I read the original thread... it is either a relevant image or says something about my childhood

I think what BB is trying to say is that Jamie and the guy who started the VB is easy thread are homosexual aerobics guys. At least that's the message it conveys to me.

same i sorta wanted to flame or at least point out stupidity or tell em to stfu but that wouldn't be appropriate in that forum.
