Mr Caffeenman, I moved it here to get away from those Qube bashers
lol have looked a bit more around ur site and your models have moved from terrific to awesome!! Wow.. u are frigging good. Serious. I know that some ppl have reputations as pisstakers on this site ( ) but I really have to say that ur models are fantastic. I think u will go well with your business. You can even see your passion in your comments about each model.
re fonts. I usually go for "Verdana, Helv, Arial" ... if a font isnt on a user's machine IE will automatically use the next one down the list.

Here I am in the other thread hitting the refresh button to see what comment are being made and you go and do something that makes sense.
Thanks for the compliments. Really. Bet you didn't know that model building site has been there the whole time. The only new pages are the custom building pages and the Modeler's Tool page.
Anyway, you're right. It's seriously a way of life for me. I got into photography because of models. I got into computers because of models. I choose where I live so I can build and fly year 'round.
The thing about it is that if I'm not financially able to do it, I can put it on the shelf until I can (unlike dog show people, for example). But if someone asks me to give it up, that's a pretty clear indicator to me that they have no idea how important it is to me. It's where I work out my anger and frustrations which is why I'm so obstinate in this forum. I don't have my outlet - over 6 months now.
But when I realized that looking for a programming job was getting me nowhere and that I had nothing to lose by doing what I love, it just made too much sense to me not to do it now. Why wait?

I'll just have to play around with the fonts some more. I originally used Arial and someone said to use Times. Can't win.
As I said in the other thread, the Verdana was too bold. The tahoma is better, but I don't like it much. I really do like arial and will probably use that. It's going to be at least a month before I'm up and running so I have time to play around. There are only 4 pages and I haven't even figured out the PHP part yet.
I can get the results of the order request page to display in a verification page, but I don't know how to get the verification page to stick it in the DB. Of course I haven't even even created the table yet, so I'm putting the wife before the cart.

Fiddly little things like model building is the last thing I would do when frustrated. All I'd get would be sore knuckles, a broken wall, and a pile of firewood....

It's not fiddly to me RJ. I've been doing it so long, that I can almost build in my sleep. Basically I can meditate while I draw plans or build.
When I was a kid I had no patience or skills which resulted in a lot of BB planes.

Apart from my short temper and high blood pressure, I have chronic shakes in my hands. It's quite bizarre - I have no idea why. One failed open-heart transplant is too many apparently, or I'd still be in surgeon school.

When I go surfing I get water up the back side and that pisses me off a lot.
OK, I lied. I've never surfed, but it happened to me when skiing. Nothing like an imprompu enema to let you know that really alive.

You can be shaky and be a good builder. I'm not real steady - I just know how to brace myself. Plus I use a lot of jigs to make critical things more fool proof.
The bonus is that if you're a model builder you'll have everything you need to perform surgery except anathesia. So when you have a propeller stuck in your chest, you can remove it at the field, replace the prop on the plane and continue flying. Model building encompasses a lot of skills.

I don't go to doctors, so for all I know, there is an explanation. I've got a little list of medical problems I can't be stuffed finding out about
#1) the shaky thing
#2) weird little 'heart attacks' that happen now and then
#3) chronic neck pain
#4) this weird little lump on my neck
Probably, they're all just cancer, so why bother?

RJ, I honestly believe that what you don't know won't kill you. I'm sure I'm full of it and it's probably wishful thinking, but a person can live for years having a disease that a doctor will tell them will kill them in 2 weeks. Once they get told, they die in two weeks. Those that don't get told live another 20 years.

Nah, I'm with you on that one. I'm pretty sure I once broke my wrist, but I couldn't be stuffed going to a doctor about it - I had tickets to a basketball game (this is back in my youth, I'd have been 14 or so).
So, it got better by itself. That's my approach to most ailments. The only time I've ever actually wanted to get medical advice, was when I had a ... man's... injury, which we shan't go into here, but needless to say it ****ing hurt, and hospitalisation was pretty much essential.
The only one I'm a little concerned about is the neck thing. It deadset hurts all day every day, and has for over 12 months. All I want to know is what I can do to help it along the way to recovery. I don't think cracking it (which relieves the pain temporarily and quite completely) is the best solution. I don't know much about what's in there, so it makes it harder for me to 'fix it myself' so to speak...

As far as that lump goes, I'll be getting my things from storage in a few months and I have a couple extra X-Acto's. Just give me an address and I'll mail it to you with the blade having the least amount of rust. Just rinse it off when you get it and wrap a oil rag around your neck until it stops bleeding. You'll be fine.

OK Kim. I'll call you Kim or DF, but never anything that I might call Nicole Kidman if I ever had a reason to talk about her anyway.
