is giving my this error: "upgrade failed exception occurred: the referenced components ... are missing design time licenses"
Is there any way I could solved this problem ?

or I need to purchase vb6 and if so what type (licenses) ? I have "visual studio.net professional"

Yeah i got this weird little error too when i upgraded a project from VB6 the only way i was able to get around it was to install VB6 on to the laptop.

Don't worry, they can live side by side.

If you hunt around you could pick up VB6 somewhere cheap, try looking in your local paper in the computer section under software, i see VB5/6 advertised from time to time.

    Smile The difficulty is ...

The difficulty is what version of VB i need

    VISUAL BASIC STANDART 6.0
    or
    VISUAL BASIC PROFESSIONAL 6.0

If i use VB STANDART is the Microsoft licens will be STANDART or
like my VS.Net it will be PROFESSIONAL.

I have VB 6, Learning addition and this little problem went away, so i think either version would be ok.

I'd try to find the professional version though myself, and VB6 will still come in handy for some time yet.

The difference between Standard and Professional would be features in VB6 and maybe some more controls & tools, i'd say, rather than licence difference for the controls.

    EDIT:
Oh, forgot to mention the project i upgraded was my own and it didn't have any fancy controls in place, just windows common controls, so on second thought find the professional version then you can't go wrong.
