Getting started with DirectSound & DirectX
I'm very new to using DirectX and I know very little about it. I'm trying to use it to play multiple sounds at once during some gameplay. A very lame, beginners game, but a game nonetheless. I downloaded a class module (cDirectSound8.cls from here ) to get me started, but I'm having some trouble. It includes an example that I just copied to learn from, but VB doesn't like several parts of it. I don't know why these parts are wrong. Anyone else seen or used this cls?
I've been looking around at Microsoft for some help or something. There's just so much crap there. I don't know if I need to download anything or what. I do know that I have DirectX Version 8.0 according to dxdiag.exe. I just need some kind advice on getting started with DirectX sound, or help with why my cls isn't working. Thank you.

Did you also download the DLL and add a reference to it? It says the DLL is required for use with the class. Must be a DirectX wrapper.
BTW - cool link in your sig!
