SQL Server
hi there
i have a problem with my SQL server! I have got a database that allows windows authentication for a specific user, how ever when the user connects to the SQL server using ASP an error message says
Login failed for user 'username'
the user name in the error message isnt the same name as the NT user.
Do you know of any settings that may need to be changed.
Thanks Rohan

Make sure your connection string allows Windows Intergrated Auth:
Code:
Const STRCONN = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Server=YOURSQLSERVER;Database=YourDatabase;Trusted_Connection=Yes;"
Make sure Windows Intregrated Auth is enabled in IE (5.5 and under it is by default, 6.0 it is disabled by default).
Make sure IIS and MSSQL can authenticate with each other - if they are on different servers, you need to use IIS Basic Auth. or Windows 2000 Kerberos which can be tricky to set up.

Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.
