data control error

I have placed a data control on a form. Under properties for that data control I put in the database name, then try to select the record source. My problem is that when I try to select record source I am getting an error message saying unrecognized data format.

In other words my vb control is not recognizing Access 2000 but it seems to work with access 97. I need it to work with access 2000.

My contact tab is only allowing me to select Access. Some had suggested that I select Access 2000 under the contact property but I am only seeing Access and other database choices.

I added DB0.3.6 from the reference library but that did not help.

I need to know how I can get my vb 6.0 to recognize access 2000 files.

There is a difference between the Jet engine used to connect to Access 2000 databases. You can check the Microsoft Knowledge Base to get the proper fix for your circumstance. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - Q238401
