    Win2k service pack 3

How many people have installed service pack 3 on a win2k machine w/ vs .net installed?

I have 2 win2k pro systems runnin', and I have spent so much time on wierd little .net errors (when creating/saving/moving vs .net projects), that I am pretty much frightened by the thought of installing sp3. I do not want to toss a fork into some smoothly running gears.

Should I wait for sp3 to get out of it's "beta" mode (I consider anything released by microsoft to be in beta mode for about 1 year after full release date).

Please give me some feedback if you've installed sp3.

    thankya

I've installed it and had no problems, although I didn't have problems with my VS.NET before so...

aha... thx for the reply. I haven't been having problems lately, so maybe I'll take the sp3 dive in a few weeks or something. I'll just be sure to ghost my system first

I've applied Win2kSp3 on all my Win2k boxes, no problems here.

Don't forget to grab the .NET Framework SP2 that was released yesterday as well....

Lobbed it on no problems.... but haven't had any problems thus far with vs.net. Did a clean rebuild of my rigs before loading framework etc, maybe you needed to do that or something.

BTW .net rocks along on XP, on a Dell Inspiron 4100 P3 it's a lot faster than my desktop P4 2.2

Ya, mine were clean installs also. I got 2 new sweet systems at work (about 1.5 months ago).

HP x4000 systems w/ win2k pro (my favorite os),
    **Dual 2.2 Ghz Xeon processors
120 GB ultra wide scsi III (or somethin' along those lines)
    2.0 GB RDRAM ECC
    DVD R/RW + CD R/RW (combo drive hp dvd100i)
And each w/ a SyncMaster 210T 21in LCD Flat Panel Display to boot

I pretty much love my boss for letting me buy those.
I was working on a 600mhz laptop before these.

I only had any vs .net trouble w/ one of the systems. I think it might have been the order that I installed everything (iis, sp2, vs .net, framework, etc.)

Any way, I'll go ahead and install the updates... has to be done eventually anyway
