    PDF Copying

I had to redownload Acrobat Reader after a problem... its only 8.6 mB and then popped up with Cab file error when trying to install.. (ps I love their solution.. erase it and redownload)

Anyhow, I need to get some pdf files read and wondered if u can copy and paste (just the text) from pdf files to any word processing thingy. I cant remember since is so long since i have used it. I guess I will try and download it again over the weekend but wanted to get these files asap.

ps... Peeeeeeet, if it is possible can i email the files to u?

Don't think so Stu. If you open a pdf in an editor you'll see it's basically postscript and the text is jumbled in with all the code.

The Reader is often shipped on cds from various suppliers- eg user docs and even the free cds with magazines. Have a squiz thru' your cd collection, you might find a reader there somewhere.

What's peet got that extracts the text out of a pdf? Some kind of filter?......

Is it something proprietary or what?

You can easily build a Text Extracter useing the Acrobat SDK.
I was about to, but then I got distracted with a thousand other things.

    Perhaps I'll wip one up.

The fun part is, when you have encoded subsets, {I think thats the condition} when you extract the text, you end up with gibberish, even though you can read it in the pdf itself.

    Let me see....
