    Radeon Quest™

So, Im at this LAN Party at the moment. The last party I went to, I was hampered by my TNT2, and the low frame rates provided by that card. Well, my friend who is hosting the party got his new Radeon 8500 off of eBay today, and kindly gave his old Radeon to me =). Welcome to HWT&L land, Zaei!!

Or so I thought. When I finally got a look at the card, I could almost immediatly tell that it wasnt going to fit in my case! After a bit of tinkering, we determined that it wouldnt fit. Crap. So, we attempted to force it =). What can I say, we are idiots! Anyway, we learned that my MoBo was actually on a nifty tray that slides out of my case. We did, and unscrewed it, and took the MoBo and processor out. Now, we had a neat metal thing, and we knew what we had to do to make it fit >=). My friend (his name is Nick, by the way)'s brother is pretty handy with power tools. We arent. First, we tried a hacksaw, but couldnt get the blade off. Then we tried some sort of power saw... not very good. Then we tried a drill. The first one we tried was broken, and the second, well, it sort of worked. We got a fwe hols in the case =). By then, we were getting a bit desperate, so we tried a Dremel. Nada. So, like I said, Nick's brother is pretty handy, so we called him in. He got the right bit on the Dremel, and a few minutes later, out pops a chunk of case. We re-inserted the MoBo, and all of that stuff. The card BARELY fits. We plugged it in, and miraculously... It works! At the moment, the card has no bracket, and the case cover wont fit (we have to Dremel that, too), but it works! It works! A total of 3 hours, we spent, and it works! =).

    Anyway, I am happy =).
